Default Cams/B16a2

Just need some opinions and help on which cams to go with for my b16a2 motor? daily driven, with most of the bolt ons/ cai, header, exhuast, intake manifold, cam gears, pressure regulator,valvesprings/retainers,p28 ecu and will tune with vafc.
Thanks in advance. Any good info will help.

Why don't you just chip the P28, run something reprogrammable, and ditch the VAFC all together?

If you don't mind the lopey idle and your car is tuned for them, a set of rather aggressive cams will net some good gains on that setup.

Default VAFC question?

My son has an eg with a mildly modded b16b. Would it benefit him to running his car with a VAFC or can he wait till he upgrades the top end with
cams, springs and retainers. His engine seems to run alittle rich. If he
did have his car tuned with the VAFC, would this increase his HP. Thanks
for helping someone who is trying to learn.

Probably not. Until the cams are changed out, there is really no need for a VAFC.

Yeah i think i would mind the lopey idle since its daily driven, getting a more aggressive cam wouldnt be overcaming a 1.6, with the mods i mentioned?? Or would getting a st.1 cam be alright for the setup? I dont plan on doing much after the tuning of the mods and cam, that is untill i get more funds.

The more aggressive cam like the Stage 2+ would benefit more from a raised compression, which you don't have. The Stage 1 cams sound fine for your setup, but again, the Stage 2 cams could really give you some good gains, properly tuned.

Make sense to me. Any ideas for a higher compression to run a st.2 cam.

Somewhere in the mid-high 11:1 ratios. As long as you have proper tuning, it should run well on pump gas.
