Type R Swap Tranny Problem
Here is my problem, any feedback will be greatly appreciated. I just swapped in a 96-97 spec Type R into my 95 civic ex. I put the engine in and after hooking everything back up, started it up and reversed out of the shop, then I put it into first, and nothing, i tried all the gears and still nothing, even reverse wouldn't do anything. I ordered a new clutch pressure plate and throw out bearing, and installed those last night. After putting it all back together, started it back up and still nothing. Reverse lights come on and a little bit of noise while in reverse, but no movement. The speedo changes with the gears, 1st gear it reads 0 mph, and rises with each gear, 5th reads 20mph while at idle and rises when it revs up.

Nope, it doesnt, I can actually shift through all gears with out the clutch even in. I think I might have to push it in a little to put it in reverse. But I cant remember for sure

when you put it together one of your axles isnt going all the way in. i had this same problem. you have to work them all the way in thats exactly what my car was doing in my garage it said i was doing 130. so try to get those all the way in

this is it. 99% sure.
the axles aren't all the way in so the diff is just letting itself spin. change you trans fluid again cause it will have some small flakes in it

You guys were right, it was one of the axles weren't in all the way, the clip was bad and they kept slipping back out. My car is finally running, just waiting on my high flow cat to finish up the swap. check out my car and let me know what ya think. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2244162/1.
