The Honda B18 Engine - A lil help!
Hi there, I'm from the UK but I am coming to you guys for some much needed advice...
I have a Honda CRX Del Sol with a B16a engine but I am changing it to a B18... I am currently in search and have come across a B18c4... (the euro version) and apparantly it is 170bhp (roughly)....
Although I have heard the b18 and b18c5 which are supposed to be more around the 197-210bhp mark...
I would be happy to go for the B18c4 as I have found it, but to get it to the b18 or b18c5's performance would it just require one of their ECU's or is there differences in the engines themselves? I would really, really appreciate the help and I am now confused and clueless...
Thanks all

you can run the same ecus on a c5 as u can run threw a c3-6, those ecus are the same basically the only major mods if between the c4 and c5, the c4 having alittle bit more advanced igition up top, and less down low, where as the c5 has more igiton down low, less up top, the reason i know this is, cause well, i have 100 different STOCK igition maps, for crome, i run stock map which u can get off pgmfi.org called 253, which is b18c4 stock igiton, i run it with minor mod and couldn't be more happy, i would suggest hmotorsonline.com if u want to try and get some more info or passwordjdm.com, other then that ebay is ur best bet.. gl with ur swap..
To get the performance of a B18C motor, you would need a mildly ported head, more aggressive cams with stronger valvetrain, raised compression, a wider exhaust, a 2.5" collector header, ECU, etc.
