Default want quick accel

What is the best way to get some quick accel im not lookin for a lot of high end power thats no big deal to me at the moment i just want as much low end power and quick acceleration as possible. I know there cant be much because i only have a modified 96 civic dx but wat is the best way to achieve this. Is there any type of thing i can do to increse accel by maybe adjusting something on the engine. Please let me know thanks

Tighten the throttle cable. :dunno: I've never done this, but they say it'll give you a quicker response. Maybe you can get a few ponies by advancing the timing too.

Loosen the two locknuts that hold the cable to the bracket on intake manifold and adjust them so that the tension between the throttle cable bracket and the throttle rotor is taught, with maybe 1/2" deflection. Once you get it where you want it, look at the butterfly plate and verify that it closes completely when the throttle is not engaged. This would be a good time to clean out your throttle body with some intake cleaner if you haven't done so in a while.

counter-clockwise: advance
clockwise: retard

Use a timing light, don't just guestimate or run it at full-advance. Generally you don't want to advance or retard more than 2 degrees from stock, which is marked on the crank pully. The white mark by itself is TDC, the mark in the middle of the cluster of 3 is your stock timing, and the marks on either side of it are 2 degrees advance/retard.

*these markings are for a B18C*

If you don't know the proper way to set ignition timing, go here:
