Default How flat does the Deck hafta be?

The deck of my block has a few scratches and stuff on it... just like maybe 5 or 6 and one is like... if I had to guess I would say 2 sheets of paper in thickness and 1/8" in width and is very close to connecting 2 cylinders to each-other... I'm thinking about putting some JB weld on it and razoring it flat... will this help or will that size of a crack even bother it?

Having a block decked is really really really cheap. My brother's was $20. I'd just do it right.

Do you think that would work? They don't look that bad in the first place I mean it's not like a big crack or anything but I'm hesitant to say whether or not the head gasket will squeeze down in it... And I've heard that JB Weld will fix things like cracks in blocks and stuff... now obviously I would not be worried about that but I've been without a car for 2 months... machine shop is backed up for god knows how long... and I just really am too pooped to pull it all back out. :-(
You think that any imperfection in the deck, although small, will still cause issues? btw, I have a cometic .067 head gasket cause my head was machined... 3 times. :-(

This is driving me nuts lol I love putting engines together, racing, etc. but when stuff like this happens...

Anybody wanna buy a b18a block with 11.5:1 compression JE pistons, Eagle rods, all built buy the machine shop? :-(

I guess we'll list it in another forum ;-)

b18b bare blocks are really cheap. I mean, there's a guy selling complete engines w/ harness for $650 in the for sale forum. So if you absolutely can't have it machined, I'd just poke around for a bare block and swap internals. But the machine shop will still need a shot at it.

That's why you swap all of your internals into it, like I said.
