Default o2 sensor wiring question

i bought a 92 hatchback with a ls/vtech swap with OBD2. the car only has 1 o2 sensor attatched to the header where it meets the exhaust piping. the sensor has two black wires, a green wire and a white wire and an extra wire that was attatched to one of the wires and it goes through the firewall. the wire from the firewall has become disconnected and the car now runs crappy. my question is whether that wire (from the firewall) should be connected to the white or the green wire as they both have been stripped?

good to hear.

for future searcher reference the white wire is the main signal wire for o2 readings for the ecu, it is the ecu input.

the other wires are o2 heater circuit wires and the ground
