Default Is this anyway possible

can you switch out a INTEGRA 1986-89 D16A1 engine with a INTEGRA VTEC 1992-93 B17A1, or INTEGRA GS-R 1994-98 B18C1 engine in a 86 integra with the d16a1 engine, if its possible what would i have to change out in order to get this to work? any thoughts?

any motor swap is "possible" it just depends on how much cash and time your willing to spend on it. some need custom motor mounts, and ALOT of rewiring, others require minimal. i wish i could help you more but i don't know much about the older integra's

since the 86 Integra chassis platform is the same as the 84-87 CRX/Civic, the swap would be the same as doing B16A into 87 CRX - Hasport sells mount kit, shift linkage, axles, etc. for the swap - not cheap to do - also, you will need to do considerable wiring - for instance, the 86 Integra used a vacuum advance ignition timing and the B16A is electronic advance - you would need to add wiring - might be best to get a complete chassis and engine harness from 88-89 Integra, which had electronic advance ignition
