more pics!! more pics!!!
|
That's all of 'em, I'm still building it. :)
Steve |
Ignore my completely trashed counter top. I have since cleaned it up. :)
Just got my 1 gallon fuel cell, fuel filters, battery relocation box and battery cutoff switch. http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...EGK1320-79.jpg http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...EGK1320-80.jpg Final brake assembly with Skunk2 Camber plates. http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...EGK1320-81.jpg I also ordered a braile battery. (11.5lbs) Steve |
Beautiful, I love how the engine bay turned out. I may have to do the say while my enigne is out. Mines going to take a bit more work to be as clean as yours (previous owner sprayed it with flat black, but hey couldn't beat the price for a hatch with a b18c already)..I'm going a different engine route but in the same boat (track only car).....great job so far keep the pics coming as you get them.
|
that looks good. Are u planing on putting a fiberglass front end on??
|
Yes, the MB one piece front end will be ordered soon as well as the FAL plexi race kit. :)
Steve |
The glass is all out. I'll be doing the last of the weight removal clean up this week and then it's body prep time.

Good Job! Keep taking pics of your progress

Sanded-ish car:
http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...EGK1320-87.jpg http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...EGK1320-88.jpg http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...EGK1320-89.jpg Installed my Karcepts Rad support for the relocated raditator: http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...EGK1320-85.jpg http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...EGK1320-86.jpg Coming along. :) Steve |
why did u buy an auto radiator? Does it just hand off the chain like that?? I would think that would be to small of a radiator for the k series.
|
That's the stock radiator size for an EG. It may be too small, but this is only for 1/4 mile runs. It's hanging from the chain because I don't have the OEM gromits for the Karcepts kit.
Ordered them today (that and the lower mounts are being held in place by clamps and need to be adjusted a little). Also, MANY k swapped cars are running an EG radiator. Hence the market Karcepts have for making relocation brackets. :) Steve |
U could go with a Del Sol VTEC Dual core. Its the same size just twice as thick
|
If cooling really becomes an issue, I'll spring for the 3 core alum rad. I just don't think that it will.
Steve |
Well, I decided to save a few bucks (a few hundred for that matter) and paint my own car.
Started with this: http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...EGK1320-90.jpg http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...EGK1320-91.jpg http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...EGK1320-92.jpg http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...EGK1320-93.jpg I primed it with Rustoleum Automotive Sandable primer. Sanded it down, and put on 3 coats of flat black. The pictures below look bad since the car is still drying from me wet sanding it. I couldn't wait since it was getting dark. There are a few places I want to go over, but for $100, I could care less. This is not a show queen, so if you don't like it, that's fine. I'll still whoop your ass up and down the 1320...and look GOOD doing it. ;) http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...EGK1320-94.jpg http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...EGK1320-95.jpg http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...EGK1320-96.jpg http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...EGK1320-97.jpg Steve |
Looking good, are u planing on useing a flat clear to protect it?? Whats next now?
|
The "flat clear" has the same protective effect as another coat of paint. So, that's all I did. :)
Ok, in an effort to save money I have modified the rear hatch/trunk, primered, painted and re-installed the tail lights. I just don't have the extra $ for a fiberglass unit. I also sanded and filled the rear bumper where there was some damage. I'll be primering and painting it this weekend. Other things on this weekend's to do list: Door Panel and floor templates Cleaning of the interior (Overspray and such) Remounting of my seat Template for my gauge panel/cluster Now, I have a question. Since I need a battery cutoff due to the relocation, can I mount the battery ANYWHERE inside the car? The cutoff switch will be in the back, but since I removed most of the floor, the sealed box I have is a little bit too big for that area (even though I have th worlds smallest battery ;) ). Would I be better off finding a spot for this thing under the hood or just move the box to my "passenger" area? Suggestions or comments? Steve |
Pic of the completed rear end and the motor almost completely stripped.
http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...EGK1320-99.jpg http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...EGK1320-98.jpg Steve |
Let me wipe the drool off my keyboard...
Should have left it green...honda green represent!! If you ever bring it to Texas, I'd like to see it run |
you can mount the box anywhere in the car as long as it is sealed

Are you going to dip into the motor at all, or just run it with bolt ons?
|
Initially...that's up in the air. I have plans for a fully built NA motor, but I need to get everything else taken care of first.
Moved and welded the rad brackets to the driver's side of the engine bay. The Rad is now physically mounted with my Karcepts relocation bracket. I'll be finishing the templates and the last of the interior stuff tomorrow (I'm planning anyway). Steve |
Door and floor templates were dropped off yesterday. FAL window race kit and SSR stainless header/megaphone exhaust were ordered as well.
Slowly but surely.... Steve |
nice project you got going there.
|
Thanks!
Seat looks good along with the shifter. (I'll be marking it's final resting spot soon.) http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...GK1320-103.jpg Shifter cables, Hybrid Clutch line, and relocated rad with Karcepts mounting kit. http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...GK1320-102.jpg Motor disassembled ready to be shipped out for the last bit of work....I can't wait to fire this bad boy up for the first time. http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...GK1320-100.jpg http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...GK1320-101.jpg Steve |
Here's the template for the gauge panel.
http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...GK1320-104.jpg http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...GK1320-105.jpg http://www.k-series.com/Images/Proje...GK1320-106.jpg Not quite a full semi circle, the base is flat and then angles to the bottom of the semi. Hard to tell from the pics. The straws are only there for spacing, the actually brackets will need to be well thought out so as not to interfere with the gauges. Steve |
Header/Exhaust ships out today.
SSR/DTR unit http://www.dtr-fab.com/images/k4-1rx1.jpg http://www.dtr-fab.com/images/k4-1rx2.jpg Steve |
SSR Header/Exhaust arrived on Friday. I also ordered my GC Coilovers and Koni Yellows from CorSport USA.
I'll be ordering my wheels and tires this week and should FINALLY be able to take a picture of my car...looking like a car. :) Steve |
Niiice man
|
