Gears on a 89 civic

I just bought myself a 1989 civic hactch manual and was wondering does it have 5 speeds or 4 speeds, because I only have 4. Will I need to get a new transmission or is it fine?

you got a standard hatchback. and yes its a 4 speed manual. i had that but i swapped in a ex tranny from a 91 sedan. and if you like slow acceleration and saving gas then yeah that tranny is fine.
