Default b16 turbo need info please!

whats up! im just trying to get an idea to see who knows lots about turbo charging a b16. im just trying to see if anyone has put a turbo on a stock b16 and if so how much boost did they run, and what things had to be took into consideration. Im kinda hopin i could put it on and run about 6-8 pounds but please tell me what you guys think. and if i could and may might onely have to change a few on the ITR what whould they be besides the obvious, piston, rods, rings, bolts, ect, ect. i already know i whould have to get new injectors, and fuel pump, and i was going to run hondata with my ecu. so if any one can give any info that would be cool, thanks.

It can be done if you do some research and take your time finding good deals on parts.

The stock sleeves can handle about 400whp

ok a stock b16a can handle up to 12 psi properly intercooled and with sufficent timing retarding and fuel. but 12 psi is too much if you ask me. run 10 psi max make sure you are intercooled. its not your sleeves you'll blow up its more like your rings or pistons you'll end up toasting. If you have the $ then buy a headgasket thats thicker to drop your compression.

Please read my prior post.

Few quick things to point out.
1)Exceeding the power limits of your engine will blow your motor (break ring lands, crack cylinders, etc)
)Poor tuning will blow your motor (too rich, too lean, to much timing, etc)
Boost pressure will NOT blow your engine. You can run 5psi or 15psi and not blow your motor if you keep the above 2 items in check.
Boost pressure is nothing more then resistance. PERIOD.
Turbo size and quality of the tune have a great impact on the amount of power you'll make (along with the other parts of the system and how well they work with each other). If you run a giant turbo, you'll make more peak hp so you won't be able to run as much boost. Smaller turbo's will require more boost to make the same power.....

13-14psi day in and day out with no problems.
The engine ran perfect up until the day I sold it....(as far a I know it's still running perfect because I havent got any calls yet)

Default b16

if you want to force induct your b16 then keep in mind some simple things and that is the b16 weakness is the pistons! Install new pistons and rods and maybe run a block guard if you cant afford to resleeve the block and you will be able to run a moderate amount of boost safely and use it as a daily driver!

Default Piggy backing off this THREAD....more info required !!!

I know I posted a thread in here already suggesting someone some things on how to with their b16 and now comes my questions!

To begin I have a 99 civic si stock b16 and what I am looking for is for specific gains and nothing more or nothing less! I am trying to achieve AT WHEEL 300 hp safely and used as a daily driver and I am taking suggestions on how to get there with minimal mods! I am deciding to go with drag kit for the reason i want to keep my a/c and p/s and I know this kit is capable of producing that kind of power! Now I know I will have to replace my pistons and rods and possibly run a block guard as a suggestions from manufactors from drag! now what else should i do besides....
a. fuel pump
b. fuel injectors
c. hondata
d. pistons
e. rods
f. block guard

... now should I add a new fuel rail? new adj. cam gears? new camshaft? new pulleys? new throttle body? new intake manifold? new ignition module? I just want my car to run perfectly or close to it without problems that could arise from not doing it right the first time...

I know quite a bit about my car but im not completely knowledgeable to be a full fledge mechanic and i love hearing SUGGESTIONS to help me complete my car finally! I get tired of these damn STi pulling up next to me because they see a Greddy exhaust on my car! Its about to change... cuz Honda simply rule..... i am not stepping down to a AWD turbo snatch anymore.... send suggestion thru here or email ....dvous1623@yahoo.com
