Few ?'s on JDM b18c into Civic
Just a few questions before i purchase my JDM b18c swap from HMO. it will be going into my 2000 civic ex.
1) i was planning on getting a 2000 engine cause my car is 2000, however, i dont think its a law in ohio to have the same year engine or newer. so i may be getting a 97/98. are there any differences between those years?
2) how much exhaust piping will i need to add to my exhaust in order for it all to fit?
3) what all will i need to do with the wiring, specifically the ecu.
thanks!

so im thinkin of just getting a 96-98 motor, what all extra do i need in order to make it work. like ecu and stuff? other than that it should fit the same as a 00 motor right?

97-98 is OBD-2 for sure, and it sucks anyway...
It may be a law for emissions reasons, but what the hell, everyone who gets a "Lick and stick" inspection is technically breaking the law as well....
Go figure...
U should get 97-98 engine, get OBD-2 to OBD-1 conversion and then run an EEPROM, say to hell with emissions and the cops...LOL
As for the engine, it should be pretty much the same internally and externally... Except for some sensors and stuff should be exactly the same as B18C1
