Default Higher compression ratio.

I have pretty much stock B16A with 10.2:1 compression ratio. My question is, if I increase the compression ratio to 11:1,I will increase my engine power on which rpm?mid, high or pretty much whole rpm band? And with some tuning can anybody tell me roughlyhow many HP I can gain.Thanks.

I'm not really a N/A guy but from what I've heard you can gain about (rough estimate) 10hp for every 1 full point you bump your compression. So going from 10.2:1 to 11.2:1 should net you about 10hp. Now that all depends on tuning and what not. Yo umay gain 3hp or you may gain 12hp.....tuning plays a big role in the outcome.

raising the compression with the stock cams wont give you a whole lot of power. now if you were to add bigger cams to the c/r increase you'll see a lot more gains.

Well,in the future I will probably change the cam.But is it OK millling the head? Cause high compression pistons are expensive.

i would only mill the head if i absolutely had to (warped, etc.) you can get decent forged pistons for ~$500

Is it true every 1 point increase in compression ration you will increase by around 10HP (for ex: from 10:1 to 11:1cr)? I'm wondering is it possible running 11.8:1 cr with 93 octane gas?

I have a B16A with a GSR head, the GSR head has smaller volume, i think its roughly 41.5cc, while the B16A has like 43cc... so I get a compression ratio of about 10.6-10.7... which is roughly .5 points higher, and you can feel a small increase in torque all-throughout the powerband, and a small increase in HP... It's an easy 10HP for every compression point u raise it, so that must be true... for me i had a skunk2 IM but the bolt patterns are different for a B16A and a GSR head... so I had to use GSR IM, but u can still tell a difference. I changed them B/C 3 days B4 we were goin to change the timing belt, it broke... so I thought valves were bent...Also, COLD AIR INTAKES suck ass if u don't have a Patented breather valve, cause I had one till it sucked up a gallon of water and bent the number one cylinder connecting rod like a a banana,LOL.

that would depend on how good your tune is. but with 93 you should have no problems running that c/r.
