What ECU do I have??
OK, don't laugh. How do I know what ECU I have? I know my CRX has a B16a and I found the ECU located under the passanger floormat but I'm not sure what type of ECU it is or what car it came out of. If I pull the ECU codes from it (my cel light is on), does it matter what car the ECU actually came out of? Will the codes be valid?
I was told when I bought the car that the engine was a '92 teg but I'm not positive. I really need to find out for sure before I have to start fixin' and replacin' things!!
First of all you need to ID what B16A it is. Look at the header. Are there two oxygen sensors or just one? If there are two it is a first gen B16a. If there is one it is a second gen B16a. For the first gen you need a PW0 ECU. The computer is labeled. Look at it and see which one it is, the code starts with P.
There's two o2 sensors and I compared to some online pics. I've definitely got a first gen.
Also, under the cover of the ECU near the connector it says "PR3 -J00" which according to http://www.superhonda.com/tech/honda_ecu_codes.html appears to be the right ECU for a '92 JDM Integra B16a which is what I was told when I bought the car. The guy told me it was a JDM Integra motor.
The codes it's flashing are "7" (Throttle Position Sensor) and "9" (CYP sensor). I'm not sure where either of these sensors are yet. Do you happen to know? The car has been running a little rough lately, kinda sporadiclly. Seems like it's missing. I'm not sure if a cap/rotor/plug change would cure this or if it's because of one of these sensors.
