Default Aem Ems

I bought an AEM EMS recently. I installed the programs on my computer and rebooted it. Then i connected the ECU to the computer and it said "ECU Offline." So i unplugged it and tried it again. Same thing. Soo now im stumpped. Im running windows XP, I think that might have something to do with it, but im not sure.

Any suggestions.

No i haven't even installed it in my car yet. I bought it off a friend, and I was going to check the settings.

Sooo I need to hook it up to my car first. Then connect a laptop? Cause I was trying to hook it up on my desktop.

Yes, it needs to have power from the car before you can do anything with it.

Plug it into your car and then click the key over to the ON position. Then you can connect.
