Default Engine Hiccup

Hey, I've got a buddy who just swapped a Jdm B18C1 into is 93 si hatch, and he never had this problem untill about 3 days ago when he returned from a road trip. The engine just kind of skips a beat. It'l be revving, then all of a sudden it'll just lug out for a split second and then keep going. It's the origional wires on 80k, so I told him to get some new wires. Plus I'm sitting here remembering working on a LS1 that had a similar problem that turned out to be old wires. Anyone agree?

i had a "hiccup" problem in my crx a little while back, i at first thought it was either plugs, wires, or either the distributor cap/rotor...after replacing all of these things and still having the problem, i then realized it was the whole distributor that was bad.

Thats what I mean it may be the ignition moduel..... also if its any of the pickup coils in the distributor they can be swaped out if yor good with wiring....... other than the moduel and the pickup coils there isnt anything else electrical in the distributor
