Default H22 in an Accord?

I don't know much about Accords .. The Accords are J-series engines, right? Are Js and Hs compatible? Could you put an H22A4 from a new Prelude into an Accord? Would it be any good?

What year Accord? I am putting an H22 into my 1990, replacing the F22A4, it is a relatively simple swap...

That engine will fit into your 91 Accord, do your homework.

The 6th gen Accord (98+) uses the F23 for the 4-cylinder and the J30 for the V6 models.

The H22 is able to be swapped but it's a shitload of work compared to a 4th or 5th gen Accord. It's far from a straight forward swap with that model.

Best bang for the buck is to turbocharge the 4-cylinder F23 IMO in those models.

No don't waste the power of the Lude motor by mating it up to the tall gearing of the Accord tranny. If you are going to do it just do it all at once.

I run the 98 Prelude H22A4 open deck mated to a 98 Prelude transmission fitted with a Cusco LSD in my 94 Accord and I love it.

well Dan if your car is running the F series currently then the H swap is pretty straight forward. If your car has the J series 6 cylinder don't even consider the H swap into it.

I think that is about as simple as the decision can be broken down.
