Turbo vs SuperCharging
Newby needs to know... From what I've been able to gather - supercharging (driving the boost from the flywheel rather than the exhaust) is really the way to go... What am I missing? Cost, availability, maintainability, performance, what?
supercharger uses the pulley of the motor to spin the compressor wheel the condenses air
the denser the air the more power is created in the clyinder.
same principle for turbo charging but the difference is that the turbo runs on hot exhaust gases from the motor to spin the compressor but it still take away a small amount of power because the gases coming from the motor has to work to push the wheel.
the real difference is that a supercharger gives almost an instant boost and a turbo u have to wait till the wheel spools up, this can change depending on the spize and friction of the compressor wheel

eh, a sc is driven by a pulley......limited by rpms of the engine but with instant constant power......its going to cost you around 2G's for a jackson....
but its reliable........however the turbo can give you much more......depending on how you want it to run (size of turbo v.s size of compressor wheel) and app. this you can get and do yourself with the help of the search button......for under 1,000 depending on your connections in your area
oh yea by the way.....what engine are you tryin to charge? cuz i have a brand new garrett t3 with a d-seires exhaust manifold
