OBD2 tool recommendations
Sorry for the multiple posts on this topic, but I thought I'd get a quick response over in the Accord forum. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten any help over there.
I have a 95 Accord and an 02 Odyssey. I'd like to buy an OBD2 tool that will work with both, being able to read out as much as possible (I hear there are "generic" codes, and manufacturer-specific codes).
When I say "tool", I'd actually like to buy something that will work with a laptop, as I have an old one that will fill the need. It has both serial port and USB. Any recommendations? Specific brand/model information would be much appreciated.
I see what appears to be an OBD2 connector behind the ashtray of the 95 Accord. Is it possible that the connector is active, even though OBD2 wasn't "mandated" until 96?
I'd also like to be able to use the same hardware to work with my 99 Ford F-150. I realize that I may need a different code load for the laptop, but I was wondering whether the hardware interface would be the same?
Thanks,
Lou
