Oil Pressure Gauge
I have a d16z6 in my 95 si.
Should I order an autometer electrical oil pressure gauge or a mechanical one?
I know I will have to tap into the oil pressure sending unit on the back of the block, and I plan to order an oil take-off fitting form tuner toys. Help?

I have a mechanical one because they are cheaper and I don't mind the thought of hot motor oil coming into the engine compartment. If you do mind, you should spend the extra money for the electrical one. You will need to tap the oil sender in the back anyway, so the type you get is just a moot point. You could also check out Greddy's oil filter sandwich thing they make that goes between the oil filter and the block and has several different taps for an oil feed line and oil pressure guage line.
I don't know if you can just have it so that one of the holes in occupied. Maybe there is a plug or screw you can put into it so it can just be used for a guage. Those would be most ideal for a turbo since tapping the oil supply at the oil pressure sender can be a bitch.
I am using a pressure manifold. Its a billet aluminum manifold that allows me to plug in my stock oil pressure sending , my autometer sending unit and a supply line to my turbo all in one central area. Pics available by email.
