Engine Installers?
Hope this is the right place to post this...
My friend and I are going to be doing a swap in my 94' civic EX soon. I honestly dont really want to do it myself since i've never done one, and he claims he knows how but i'm worried. Does anyone know of a place/person that can do it near Atlanta Ga. I'm willing to drive to a place if its reputable and is priced reasonable. Or, if anyone on the site is quite knowlegable about swaps and could help out and get paid of course. Thanks
also..please dont flame me too bad.. i did a search but didnt find too much. I am in the process of choosing the exact swap. Right now its between B16a2 SiRII or B18C1. The Horsepower difference in the two is only 10Hp but the price is usually around $1000 difference. I read that most people like the B18C1 (GSR) but having a hard time justifying the grand difference... any input?? Thanks

The C1 is definitely more versatile in terms of aftermarket support and is a great all around engine because of the compression. If you plan on going turbo, the B18 is the better choice, but if not, the higher compression and lower price of the B16 will be your best bet. And also, the B18 has better torque than the B16, so that is also something to consider.

1. As for the car, I dont think I want to run a turbo. My goal is to build a strong running car as a daily driver. I would like to be able to at least get the car to run in the 14.0 14.5 range.
2. I read on here about people getting GSRs and then building them with forged pistons and sleeved cylinders and head jobs etc., I just dont see how they afford it. I see GSR engine swaps for 3500 plus all extras (heads, pistons, etc)!! So with my intentions and budget, I see myself with a GSR with maybe a few bolt ons hoping to pull out around 200hp.
3. With that said, any suggestions on what to do to the motor before I put it in? I'd hate to get it in and wish i had replaced something.
4. If I decide not to do it myself, anyone got any recommendations of shops to get the engine and maybe install it as well out here on the East Coast?
