Default Let me know what you think about this.........

I have a b16a1. I have the basics, exhaust, intake, etc. I'm not lookin to do any forced induction. I know there are gonna be those that swear by turbos and superchargers, but I'm not one of em. I'm more impressed by brute NA power.

Here's the game plan: port and polish the head, stage 1 GUDE cams (cuz I'm cheap and can't afford comp cams) keeping the stock valves and springs, want an aftermarket intake manifold to compliment the new cam (what would work well with this application?)

After all of this, I'll work on ignition and fuel supply, but this is the next stage. Any suggestions???

get a thinner headgasket for an easy bump in C/R

get a bigger throttle body if you're going to get the I/M

cheap out on cams and it could come back to bite you in the ass. same with keeping the stock vavlesprings with upgrading cams.

Yeah. "If you are going to do it, do it right the first time." A performance car is not something you want to go cheap on. Get some good cams and upgrade the valves/retainers or keep saving your money and do it when you have enough.

I really don't think I want anything more than a stage 1 cam. This is a daily driver, and I want to keep that drivability. Yes, I've heard Gude makes a good cam, and I really don't see the need for aftermarket valves or springs if I'm running a cam that's as mild as a stage 1. I've done a lot of research, and found that it's a waste of money unless you do go with a beefier cam. So anyways....

Any other suggestions?

It is a waste of money if you throw the cam in without the recommended valvetrain upgrades because you cannot raise the rev limit to take advantage of the cams power without binding your springs or floating your valves.

If what you're asking is, how much will it cost, the answer to that is: NOTHING! I actually port and polish my own heads... although I can't perform valve jobs myself.
