Hi, I own a 1991 D16A9 and have been told it can be bored out to 1.8 liters. If true, what pistons/rods will fit? What about D18 (90-91 Integra)? I am looking for the engine specs but couldn't find much info. Any help very very appreciated!!
Yes you're right; found the specs... and now I think that whover told me it can be done was bullshitting me! No way a D16 can be increased to 1.8 liters.
There are stroker kits for B16's, so if some one was making a stroker kit for the D-series engine, I am sure there would be one that would increase displacement up to 1.8 liters. But I am sure no one would make one, not enough money to made I would believe as B-series swaps are very popular(duh).
That's right. I did find out that Mugen used to sell a stroker kit for the ZC (D16), but that's discontinued. I figured I would have to re-sleeve the block to do this... not worth it I guess!
Call or drop Crower a line, they can make custom stroker kits for any honda, just give em the specs, how big, what compression, they will make you one, go to crower.com and find the honda page, and click on stroker kits. At the bottom it says something about custom kits for hondas, acuras, nissan, etc. Good luck
Stroking a D-series is a waste of money. If you want the extra displacement, spend your money on any B-series and save yourself tons of money with less hassle.
