Default vtec problem

i was driving home last night and i notice my vtec was kicking in at about 7rpm.. then this morning on the way to work i had no more vtec.. my car runs slow as hell now. does any one know what could be wrong with my motor? I had this swap for about 2 years now with no problem at all. I have 98 b18c1 swap in my 98 civic. stock ecu, dc 4to1 headers, apexi intake and exhaust. Thanks in advance..

first of all if you have a stock ecu vtec will engage at 4400, not 7000. second, are you throwing any codes?

If you are throwing codes, I would suggest checking the Vtec solenoid. See if the screen is clogged.
