Default Rpm Reading At Idle On Accord

I HAVE A 96 ACOORD LX WITH THE 4 BANGER AND AUTO TRANSMISSION.
AT WHAT RPMS SHOULD THE CAR BE RUNNING AT WHILE IDLING. MINE SEEMS TO BE AROUND 500 AND IT SEEMS TO SHAKE AS THOUGH IT SHOULD BE HIGHER.
IS THIS POSSIBLE?

THANKS IN ADVANCE.

standard idle should be at 800 rpm's, advance your timing a few degress till it reads 800 rpms

Look on the sticker on the underside of the hood. It should tell you what the normal idle (no accessories running) should be. Mine kind of shakes too when it dips down that low, but it is because of the open atmosphere BOV.
