Default Engine identification numbers..

Hello all,
I have an engine/5sp that I believe is out of a 86 Accord. Could someone inform me as to where the identification numbers are on the engine. The tranny is a E2R6. Is there a number deciphering area here??

Thanks,

Cam

They should be on the upper front of the block on the left hand side.

Is it visible with the exhaust manifold on? Is it just a casting number or is it a "as configured" number?

Thanks,

Well, maybe I need to ask this a bit differnetly. I have humored the idea of finding a Honda to put this donor engine tranny in. I looked up the tranny and found that it fits 86 - 89 accords. The engine is carbuerated. I was wondering what years they used this engine in. If I could find a car with tranny/engine problems, I could put this combo in and have a reasonable car for the son or a spare sitting around. Any help??

That's an A20A, only good for another 86-89 Accord. To be legal, you have to drop it into an '86 body (if it's an 86 engine, the body has to be the same year or older) that originally had the carb'ed engine.

don't stick you're son with an 86 accord dude, not for his first car.. even the 86's are too reliable to have fun with, his first car needs to be a real S**ter

trust me i used to have a 91' sable gs (with the 3.8 liter 140 hp engine baby.. OH-yea.. 14MPG here we come!) and it was litterally the best car i've ever had, most fun at least. lol
