Default Engine Rebuild Question

Hey,

Ive seen people saying they got their engine rebuilt and the mileage is 0. well, what exactly an engine rebuild? what do you need to do one? about how much would one cost? thanks

it does not mean you can turn back the odometer to 0, but an engine rebuild is usually a clean cylinder hone, pistons, rings, bearings, gaskets. if it is built for performance it is usually all the above + rods, head studs, sometimes valvetrain work.

if it is a performance build with aftermarket sleeves. it can cost up to 3500 or so for a bottom end(everything but head work) if you are keeping stock sleeves and goin for pistons, rods , etc probably about 1500 or so....that doesn't include assembly as machine work and labor costs vary a lot

Or do it yourself for a couple hundred in parts

if he is asking what it is I am assuming he doesn't know where to start so doing it at home is probably a bad idea
