Default Head Gasket?

Installing T3 on a D16Z6, the motor I was going to use was a rebuilt D16Z6, but I decided to save it for another project and use my 128k motor that hasnt been rebuilt incase I blow it up....

I wanted to know what head gasket would be best? I heard some are much thicker than others and can change the compression. Would this be a good idea? Or should I get a stock gasket?

In my rebuilt I got a MrGasket top end rebuild kit, and the gasket looked like the stock one... So what should I do?

A stock replacement head gasket will be fine.

more on the cometic, josh is running a cometic, just remember that. 300 and some odd whp. cometic is a good gasket by this statement but horrible by b18coupe's statment. Personally on a d-series, they are cheaper to build so just go with stock since you know it has been tried.

Oh also, what about a block guard? I have been looking into geting one, they are only 50.00 and look like a good idea, but the holes in it for water flow look to small... I was looking on ebay at them, does anyone have any info on them?

ive done some recent research on BG's and it seems as though the best one to go with is a golden eagle. Take a look at it, they look very passive and I think it will do the job. The main prob with any block guard is that they are installed improperly. so besure that it is installed correctly.
