Default NEED! D16Z6 Valve Clearance For Adjustment

Does anyone know the proper clearances for the intakes and exhast needed for valve adjustment. I adjusted to what the book said and it sounds like shit...... Please help. Per the book it says intake should be .007-.009 and exhaust should be .009-.011 i adjusted to .008-intake and .010-exhaust

Also i know the adjustment order is TDC 1 TDC 3 TDC 4 TDC 2.

But when my mechanic was adjusting he did TDC 1 and and adjusted both intake and exhaust at same time(i thought there would of been a different TDC for intake and exhaust) He repeated this for each TDC only turning to the next TDC adjusting both intake and exhaust.

What do i need to do? Please help

I'd recheck the clearances. Yes, you put the cylinder you want to adjust at TDC and adjust both intake and exhaust sides at the same time. Your specs are good, you can always look under your hood for the decal that has the valve clearances. Assuming you still have the decal.

You adjust on the compression stroke (exhaust and intake are both up) so when you have a cyl on TDC is when you adjust intake and exhaust for that cyl. Makes me wonder how in the world you tried adjusting them the first time. No wonder it souded like ass.
