b series starters

Default b series starters

does it matter what year ls starter i use as long as its manual for a b18b with gsr tranny obd2. are the starters obd1 obd2 specific?

1 more question will a obd2 gsr dizzy work with my b18b>?

Im using and OBD1 b16 starter on my LS OBD2 tranny. So to answer your question it will work as long as its manual

I dont think it will cause the GSR has vtec But Im not 100% sure

No, one of the three mounting points is different on the GS-R unit to make room for the VTEC solenoid.

I guess you could theoritically modify it by removing that leg as you would to use a non-VTEC distributor on a VTEC head, but I really don't see the point. You can sell yours for more then an OBD-2 B18B dist. is worth and buy a proper one.

Upon reviewing this thread, any 92+ starter will work. 91 and older flywheels where a different size, and will not work with later model B-series starters... just on a side note.
