Default Rotary engine for sale?

My uncle has a purple 82 RX-7 ( I think its an 82?) and he painted it and made it all nice, and then came across another RX-7 (red) and the motor had just been rebuilt, the guy sold it to him cheap because it shook when you would go about 35-45mph, he took the motor out of the red one (rebuilt only 8000 miles ago), and now he has a body with no motor, and a motor with no body, he wants to know how much he can get for the rotary engine and the body? Buyer puts it together.

The car is in good shape (nothing wrong with anything). The motor is also in great shape, he takes good care of his cars, the motor has over 100,000 miles (not sure have to ask him more about it) and it runs strong, no smoke or leaks, and just passed smog test.

Like I said how much do you think he could get out of the car and the motor?

If anyone is interested, this is in Western Washington/Pierce county (parkland area). Email me @ dwest_24@hotmail.com if you want more info or know how much he can get for the motor and car.

Is it a Honda motor, or a Honda body? NO? then you should post this in a mazda forum.

This forum is not brand discriminant, you do not need a honda or acura to ask or post, but it is understood that those will be the primary focus.

I need to know the year and model of the body to give an accurate price range. S1's (79-80) can get a premium to the right buyer, S2's (81-83) and S3's (84-85) really depend on the trim.

12A's can chug along for well over 150k miles, however that engine is getting really old. Count on ~$200-300.

Ok, thats what I was thinking for the motor, the body he is selling is an 83, its a manual with no power options and no sunroof. Not sure the model name but it sounds to me like the base model. The car my uncle swaped the motor into is a GSL, It has a sunroof and power stuff. How much do you think he could get for the Car with no engine? He wanted to get around 400 for the car and the motor, do you think that is fair?

For the car and the motor? $400 is plenty fair.

Hell, if I was in that area, I'd grab it.

Try listing on RX7club.com or Nopistons.com. He should be able to sell it pretty quick over there.
