Default 02 civic si - emmissions light

and no it's not my gas cap.

the emmissions light is on and the maintenance req' light came on this morning too. now, for some reason, the car is pegging out at 4,100 rpms. it won't rev any higher. it's not stalling at lower rpm's, it just won't go any higher then 4,100. any idea's out there?

Is there oil in the engine?(If you state anything like you didnt think you had to change oil, or no, the engine no longer has oil in it, you deserve to be slapped)

Emissions light can be something as simple as not putting your gas cap back on, or not tight enough.

With the sputtering and all that, I'm going to toss a wild guess in the direction of your O2 sensor. Is the check engine light on?
