Default 02 Civic SI Oil Problem

Okay,

So hears my story. I purchased an 02 ep3hatch with 27k on it. After driving it for about 3.5k I changed the oil. When I bought this car the first thing I did was check to see the color of the oil, it was clean and the level was full.

When I changed after 3.5k, there was hardly any oil in it. I went to my local Honda dealer and informed them of my findings.

They were quick to tell me that the previous owner did not take care of the car. I showed them the Honda service records and asked if the checke the VIN # against their records. They appologized.

The service manager had his mechanic top off the oil seal the filler cap, filter, and drain plug.

After driving 2k miles, the oil level dropped below the lower dot on the dipstick. I took it back to the service manager, who after talking with his mechanic, informed me that using 1 quart of oil for every 1k miles driven is normal.

This is my 3rd Honda. I have never had any engine that drinks like this........

So, if this is the case, and I change the oil every 3k miles, I will have little or no oil in my engine.

Is it just me, or is this just wrong ? Has anyone else had tis problem ?

Thanks.

Something's wrong with the car.

1 quart for every 1000 miles is bullshit. Call the better business bureau.
