Have you ever seen the CTR pistons? They are much more domed than the ITR pistons. If you read his 2nd post, you would understand that he is retaining the ITR rods so his stroke is the same. But I do agree with you, for the price of an ITR engine, unless i bought a type r and the engine came stock, I would much rather build a b20vtec.

im aware of the Ctr pistons have a more domed top than the ITR..how ever...the ITR still has .3:1 compression over the CTR...the Crvtec is the best bang for the buck...no matter how you look at it...you cant argue with this..http://www.importbuilders.com/crated_motors.htm
225hp at the wheels....no ITR/CTR combo is gonna give you that for the price you can buy a Crvtec...

First off I wasn't arguing against building a crvtec, but this guy already has the ITR motor. Now, I am aware that the ITR has .3 compression points over the CTR. However, you put CTR pistons in the ITR, and your compression is now roughly 11.75:1, instead of 11.1:1. CTR pistons in ITR block, higher compression. Go here and see for yourself. http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/c.../compcalc.html

ya i dont know what you guys are talking about. the way he build is engine is fine. the cams are fine too, but if he wants some real power he should definitely get stage2s cause with all that other stuff done you gotta get some hot cams to take advantage of it all. get the valve train with the cams too. and the aem cam gears are bad, or so i hear. theyve been known to slip. just go to skunk2 and get the cams, the gears, and the valvetrain and youll be a happy camper. if you dont have the money for it right now though just stick with what you got and youll be fine. i would say you should be in the low 14s with those mods. anyone else care to give input on that?
