b16-b18 redline

Default b16-b18 redline

im wondering ever since i got my b16a.ive been able to take it up to 9.5 prm
with oiut anyproblems .whats the redline on a stock b16a motor? i think i could go further but i dont want to damage anything or throw a rod.doesnt the b18 redline at 9.5?

b18c1 redlines at 8000 RPMs. I'm not sure what the b16's redline is off the top of my head.

b16a redlines at 8200 anything higher than that with the stock valvetrain and you are lookin for some valve float. Also the profile on the stock cams does not make power past 8k anyhow...so you are revin too high for no added hp

You may enjoy your 9k shifts now, just keep on doing that on the stock valvetrain and sooner you will pay.

yeah i just talked to this guy, and since there is no added power after 8200 rpm there is no point. but it is safe to shift at 8.2 ?

I mean not every shift should be at 8200, but sure if ya want..I would recomend 8k shifts to adjust for error...but hey

oh, for sure.i was only talking 8k during racing shit i shift at half that on the street.
