Default Supercharged or Turbo

I got a 00 civic si with a b16a2. Does anyone out there know if a supercharger or a turbo would work better for my engine? Plus does anyone have any ideas on how to make my car lighter. I already took the spare tire and washer fluid out, any thing else??

if you wanna make your car lighter you can totally strip the interior (panels, sound deadening material, seats, etc.)

no need to strip your car . . . just boost it. if you need anything let me know as I do put together custom kits and what not.

I find I'm typing this out a lot lately, but here goes:

- How much money do you have to spend?
- How much power do you want to make?
- How much risk of blowing your motor will you accept?

You can buy yourself a sawzall and cut out the whole floorboard if you're so concerned with weight.

But in all honesty, taking out your spare tire and your wiper fluid isn't going to make a big difference.

Superchargers aren't really made for our types of cars. Also superchargers take horsepower to create horsepower as they are driven by a pulley. A turbo is essentially free power since it uses your waste gases to power itself. There are 2 types of Superchargers out there.......Centrifugal and Rootes. The rootes ones IMO kinda suck as their top end really blows ass. Centrifugal ones actually sorta have lag like a turbo and do better on top, but still aren't as badass on the top end as a turbo. There are many forms of turbos as well. You have different trims like P,Q,R,S and shafts like thrust, BB, DBB.......and antisurge housing........the possibilities are endless.......

Says who? I run ~300 whp turbo GSR motor as my daily driver and there's no 'reliability' problems at all.

Some people need to do some research. h:
