Default 1992 Civic CX with a H23A DOHC VTEC Swap----->Exhaust Question...

Hello!
I have a 1992 Honda Civic CX Hatchback that I am currently swapping a 2000 Honda Accord SiR H23A DOHC VTEC engine into. I was looking into a few different exhausts for my car, but I'm finding out that I can't make up my mind.

I am the kind of person who likes really loud exhausts (not the high-pitched sound but the deep growl sound...like a Tanabe Super Racing Medallion). However, I would sacrifice a loud exhaust for one that gave me better horsepower and torque gains.

I was wondering if anyone could give me some basic information on the exhausts (like tip diameter, B-pipe diameter, loudness, weight, and horsepower/torque gains) so that I can make up my mind. The exhaust systems that I am looking at are...

---JIC Bullet (stainless and titanium)
---Mugen Twin Loop (full stainless???)
---Tanabe Ultra Racing Medallion (stainless and titanium)

Thanks again for all of your help!

First of all, I think you meant to say H22A Accord R. That is one nice stock motor. It is almost identical to the h22 type-s motor...

Anyway, the mugen twin loop is super silent and very good exhaust... The tanabe is louder... I have nore heard a JIC... Get something you like...

Are you doing the swap yourself? It is by no means an easy swap...

1. Get a muffler that can add a silencer

2. Get any muffler you choose and add an additional resonator

and make sure your piping isn't too big

I am running a 2.25" exhaust all the way back with an N1 canister and a GSR cat(need to pass emissions and never removed). The exhaust is VERY loud but not like a can of angry bees like a D-series with an identical set up. It is LOUD but deep and solid sounding. It does get a little high pitched at full throttle and high RPM's.

Probably does not help but oh well
