Well, I'm not an expert at this, i just spoke from experience, but before you put it on your 150k miles, you should do an overal maintenance check (seals, fuel, filters, etc) and get a compression check like Redcivic said.
50 shot should be stable and okay with your ride. Other misc things you can do is to upgrade your fuel system, better spark plug ( I personally recommened Zex's)
