a friend of mine with a highly modified porche 930 turbo shoots 3' flames out of both exausts on a harsh upshift. one of the reasons the flames are so big is that the exaust is 2' total...you can actually see the turbo red hot in the very rear of the car. the other reason is that he's running rich as hell, and about 550hp.
