Default Cool mods for your Honda?

Working with a company looking to enter the sports compact aftermarket. Our company has a ton of experience designing ECUs for major manufacturers, and would like to use our expertise to create new products for Honda cars. We'd like to hear your thoughts on what features (data logging, performance measurement, tuning) you'd like to see on a new electronics product for your Honda. Any thoughts?

This, but done with an OBD1 or OBD2 version of a Honda ECU.

The key feature being to program the ECU on the fly rather than burning new ROM chips all the time.

Isn't that like the AEM EMS and the Apex Power FC with Datalogit box?

It's more like a Hondata but with the ability to program it on-the-fly. It's made from a stock '88-'91 Honda ECU core.

What are you saying distinguishes the Hondata from the AEM then? Seems like and AEM or a power FC that can work on OBD2 and program on the fly fit the bill pretty well no?

I still don't see what makes DSM link different or better than an AEM EMS or PowerFC with Datalogit. Both are tune on the fly systems that are full stand alone and do just as much or more than a Hondata.

This looks to eb a good system but with the other options available why are we pining over something not made for a Honda?

A ZDyne or Hondata is a modified Honda ECU. An AEM or Power FC is a totally new box. ZDyne and Hondata work well enough and are cheaper than AEM or A'PEXi.

I'm just saying it'd be nice to have the on-the-fly programming of the ZDyne in an OBD1 ECU like the Hondata (or perhaps even OBD2), for say oh $1000 or less.

AEM and Power FC are both far more powerful than the Hondata because you are still limited by the stock ECU.

You cannot, for example, get rid of your MAP sensor and use TPS load or MAF.

However, the ZDyne and DSMLink are similarly limited.
