Dang 4 gauge? That's pretty thick ground wiring. I agree with qtiger, 8 gauge should be fine. If you really feel the need to get gold plated connectors then get it. I'd probably get them depending on the price.

No no no, go with the 4 gauge. It's a little expensive but it'll pull more power out meaning more power will flow easier through your engine, a benifit for better spark. But why waist your money on gold plated connectors. Tinned copper will give you a good contact for all your needs.

im on my way of making my own. i say if you know how to crimp big wires, do it yourself. the "kits" charges a load of money.

4 guage wire cost $.99 per feet. you wont need more than 10 feet. crimps cost $.50 per. and if you dont have a good crimper, $20 can get you an impact crimper for working wth the 4 guage. then put in some time to sand the paint off the chassis...:dunno:

im planning on using 4 guage wires from these points:

-valve cover to chassis
-negative battery terminal to chassis
-positive lead on alternator to battery (as well as keeping the stock lead)

robert made a good write up in the car audio section.

i made my own earthing system.
I regrounded all the stock wires and added some ground points.
I have noticed a pretty significant difference in the "performance" of my engine.....It idles better, a lil increase in gas milage (like 1 -2 mpg), and it goes through the rpms much more smoothly then before.
but my car is 8 years and 100k miles old and the stock grounds were just shit....

I replaced the stock tranny ground w/ a 4 gage wire
replaced the wire from the neg bat terminal to the chasis w/ a 4 gage
replaced the valve cover ground w/ a 8 gage
added 8 gage ground wires from the neg bat terminal to the throttle body and intake mani
and added a 4 gage ground wire from the neg bat terminal to the alternator

Here's a couple threads that might help out; although, the pics are now dead.

I bought the HKS Circle Earth for my 99. It's universal and I noticed that it did idel better, my fuel economy increased slightly and my headlights were brighter. Towards higher RPM's you noticed a little bit of a difference, but nothing worht writing home about. It looks good under the hood though. Better than the factory grounding straps.
