Default B18C1 Swap

ok I have a few questions concerning the B18C1 swap I am planning on doing.

1. this is the engine I plan on getting.
Engine WWW Link

2. I have a 97 Honda Civic EX 4DR. It's the Canadian version, meaning no VTEC.

3. with the above engine and all the parts that are included, what else will I need. I am mainly concerned with the electronics. I don't know how to hook up the GSR intake to the ECU, nor do I know how to wire up the VTEC to my existing setup. it's not the physical aspect of doing it, thats no problem, I just need a diagram or something to help me.

so basically I need to know what exactly has to be done, and if I need a OBDII --> OBDI jumper harness, and anything else that I may have forgotten.

and one final question, I am going to bolt a turbo on the GSR engine, does anyone know the best turbo to use? there are so many that I can't decide, and price is a factor, I can spend 3-4 thousand (USD) on the turbo, but not too much higher than that.

thanks guys for all your help.

Mark

take www.hondaswap.com and www.hybridgarage.com and call me in the morning.

That's a JDM B18C SiR-G not a B18C1 btw.

In my personal experience, they're motors are not very trustworthy. I worked on an Osaka D15B that had rusted valves and wouldn't hold compression. Not good....

I went to look at osakajdmmotors.com, and I liked the idea that they are in canada, as I am too, and the shipping would be less. and yes the engines are cheaper, but they don't come with nearly as many of the parts I will need for the swap that the engine here does:
http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...age&item=30009

so if I don't go with hmotorsonline, and opt with Osaka, the I would just be using the money I saved, to buy all the other parts I would need anyway. but thatks for the help

If you live in Canada, go visit Osaka and pick out a motor yourself. That way you don't have to worry about any nasty surprises that might arrive in the mail.

but as I just posted, it doesn't come with even close to as many parts that I need, whereas the one from Hmotorsonline comes with everything. so it would almost be cheaper to have it shipped, and to pay the us dollar for it
