Default problem once again

Driving to skool this morning and its raining so im going down the road and I go to turn my parking lights on. After I do that it kills all the gauges, lights, cd player and everything. Then the car starts to hesitate on the throttle really bad. So I pull over and sit while the car is idleing to where its about to die. I sit there for a couple minutes then it finally dies. After that I turn the switch off. Then I turn it forward again and I get nothing, just a moaning sound

Sounds like the alternator or the battery went south? Might even be a short or something else? Sorry, I know it's not much help. Check that the alternator belt is still there, check all your grounds, including the one going to the battery and if possible, drive it to an auto parts store and have them hook up the battery testing job. My girlfriends 2.5GT Legacy had the battery light come on and they tested it and said the alternator was going south before it failed.

Does the car have a cold air intake? Does any of the electronics still work. If it won't start, will the lights still turn on, radio still play? Sorry, just trying to brainstorm some ideas. I wish I could help you more.

happened to me once... got the alternator wet. I shut it off emmediately, and four days later, it was running fine again.

Yeah, I was thinking grounds at first, could be the alternator. And then maybe the rest of the electrical system.
