Has anyone had any experience with an open exhaust. I am working on building a test pipe to replace my cat and was thinkng of adding an exhaust cut out to the test pipe so I could open it up at the strip.

What's you're experience if any with an open exhaust on a N/A 4 banger?

 

i run a 2.5 straight pipe to 99 si b pipe with no muff... the car pulls hard but its damn load... cruising on the freeway at 65ish gets cumbersom at times... the exhaust not drones... my buddy has something similar to that peace but it has a cable so that you can open and close it in cab... closed is loud, open is even louder... but i think your piece has a better cleaner design so mayby it won't be as loud as his... hope that helps...
