Default Test Pipe or High Flow Cat?

OK OK before I start getting bashed over the head with emmisions and ARB technicalities let me first say I live in FL... FL= No ARB.

Ok now that the emmisions arguments have already been addressed, can anyone point me in the direction of a company that custom fabs cats or test pipes for hybrids? I got a new header and WS cat back and just need something to join the two.

There was a thread on SHO about this company that mfg race exhaust and would custom fab a carsound cat to your dimensions i.e. inlet/outlet flanges, length, diameter, etc. Well I lost my bookmark for their web site and can not find this place again.

Can anybody refer me to a place that will make a Cat or Test Pipe to my dimensions? I found a guy on ebay that will make a test pipe for me but I'd like to try and find a well known company to deal with.

I want it to bolt in with no welding involved so it can be removed swapped etc. I would just order a universal cat and have a muffler shop weld the flanges so it will be a bolt in but I don't have any decent muffler shops around here. You should see the butcher job they did to my JDM header when I had it hooked up to the stock cat back

I don't know if they stock custom applications like yours, but Thermal made a set of stainless test pipes, at least for a while. I saw one at a buddy of mine's shop and the quality was as good as the exhausts. I had a local muffler shop job on my hybrid for about a week. It sounded horrible without the cat, went from deep and clean to high pitched and farty.

What size pipe are you running? Do you have a resonator? what exhaust are you using? Just wondering because the cat shouldn't affect the sound that much

It's not running anymore, but at the time I was using the stock GS-R exhaust manifold, 2" straight pipe for the cat and a 2 1/4" Tanabe Racing Medalion (with a resonator). Just sounded horrible, and the only thing I changed was the test pipe for the cat (no leaks either).

I run 2 resonators and 2.25 mandrel bent pipe through a turbo muffler and it sounds like a stock GSR but flows great.
