I wouldn't do it. It's a pre-built engine, which takes all the fun out of it.

B18C5 is a great motor, but it's really expensive compared to other B series motors and it needs some reinforcements if you want to run any appreciable forced induction. If all you're planning to do is an engine swap, then go for it, otherwise I think your money is better spent on a B18C1 or A/B.

As for swap difficulty I think it's about the same as any other B series motor into a Civic.

after thinking about it, i planned on just going naturally aspirated. i wont get that jult of power you get with a turbo, but i will still have enough power to keep me happy with good headers, exhasut, intake stuff, cams, etc. also, kai, what do you mean by a pre built motor? its just a b18c5, well not just in a bad way, but its in its stock form from the factory. im just worried about the installation and if there are any places to find the motor with everything i nedd for less then 4400.

OK, imagine this:

A B18C1 with a port and polished B16A head, high compression pistons, half-race cams, and upgraded valve springs.

That is a B18C5. It is a pre-built motor, as in the important stuff has already been replaced. Replacing them on your own is a waste of time and money, because you can build a B18C to your own specs for cheaper and end up with virtually the same engine.

In short, a B18C5 is an engine you buy to install and leave alone.

i see where your coming from now. but no disrespect, id rather just buy the type r motor and leave it but with a few more mods, headers, etc. you see where im going, and i want to work on suspension as well and upgrade brakes etc. i appreciate everyone's opinions by the way, thanx

I'm just saying, if you planned on replacing the cams and other engine innards, the B18C5 is not the best engine for you. If you plan to leave the guts alone, it's a great choice.

And it's header, singular. We have one header.
