i assume the b16a would be a lot easier than the b18 right?

Not really, there's a slight overall height difference, but not much to worry about with the way today's mount kits are made.

do you know what the overall height difference would be and would you have to get like an aftermarket hood or something, cuz I herd some of the enigines like the b16's and the b18's wouldn't fit correctly into the crx without the right mounts and or hood. I dunno...

With a place racing mount kit or some new HASport mounts, you shouldn't need a hood with whatever engine you get, at the very most you might need to shim the engine down with a couple washers.
