i just found a d16y8 motor at one of the local wrecking yards, and the guy said he doesnt know what year it is and miles it has, but i he said he would sell me the block and head, with valve cover, for 100 dollars!

He did say it had a light tick in the top end tho!
would this be a steal or no?

please someone advise me on this cause i wanna go get it today!

lets say the head is junk do you think i could get rid of the head and block for more than 100?

 

It's a steal. I wonder whats wrong with the head though. Most likely you can fix it if not I'd buy it from you cheap.

Well, what is you goal? Mini-me swap? Build and replace a D15? Depends.

If you're going to be rebuilding it, it's a great starting point.

Even if you buy it, you can probably part it out for more that you paid.
