yeah im running a p28 mugen chipped on a ctr motor in my hatch. i was wondering do you think i will run faster with a p72 unchipped with the knock sensor plugged in. with my p28 i didnt have to use a knock sensor. i was planning on buying one just wanted to know if anybody preffered one over the other.

 

You'll make more power on a stock ecu than on a "mugen" chip.

Well I am running the ''mugen'' chipped P28 in my car too, but is your car tuned along with a piggyback fuel controller like the VAFC or anything? cause when before my car was tuned, that ECU was JUNK!!! it was running soo.....lean, i lost soo....much power, but with tuning, all the universal chipped ECU's with a VAFC or something similar, they are all the same, so once it was tuned, i was happy with it, but it needed to be richened up ALOT, but I dont think there will be any difference with both of them in peak hp and trq. being tuned, but i could be wrong

 

In general I've seen them run rich not lean, but otherwise I agree with you. 99.9% of the people selling chips are cluebies. You probably got a "mugen" chip for a 1.6. And then the other... maybe 12 people, let's just say we've seen "commercial solutions" including features from our work
