Default 96 Civic Auto Trans fit a Accord?

Ok got a guy with a 1992 Accord, 1.6ltr with an Auto. His trans is fried. We found a good low milage 1996 Civic auto trans, eng it came off is a D16Y8 SOHC V-TEC OBDII.
Will this OBDII Trans work on the older OBDI Accord?
Will it fit right?

Thanks for any advice.

I thought the last 1.6 liter Accord was replaced by a 1.8 liter in the late 70s.

Default thanks guys

Thanks all, I have not worked much on accords, I own a custom shop in Portage Wisconsin, but have only worked on Civics.
I have not looked at the accord yet, but I better go look at it myself, the guy called me on the phone and told me it was an 1992 Honda Accord with a 1.6ltr with auto trans, hmmm??
So would this be a swaped in drive train if it is indeed a 1.6ltr?
Or will that even fit in there?

thanks, madmike.....

umm i think the guy who owns the car knows less than you do....
if they got a d16 or b16 into an accord i would not touch it since if they can do that they can do theoir own tranny swap.
90-97 4 cyl accords have 2.2 liter engines stock, or some will have 2.0 if they swapped in a non us market replacement.

what can I say? I been building a Civic D15B7 or D16Y8 engine a week lately, and installing it - but an Accord has been rare around here. But I am not affraid to ask the cool people on here any questions about any Honda, I dont know everything but all the combined talent on here can do just about anything!!!
