ECT sensor is on the head at the nozzle for the upper radiator hose, it's got a 2-wire connector. The 1-wire sensor is for the dashboard temperature gauge. There's a similar 2-wire sensor at the lower radiator hose (t-stat housing), that's the fan switch.

I don't have my '95 manual right here, so I can't look up resistances for you right now. The sensor is a variable resistance, your Helm book will say how many ohms it should have at a few different temperatures.

The way you describe it - bad at part-throttle, good at wide-open throttle... That makes me suspect the throttle-position sensor.

Hey Folks,

Before I go any further, I want to thank everyone for their terrific contributions to helping me find this glitch.

I have my meter and I have extensions with alligator clips. I'll get to the troubleshooting and record my findings here. This problem is actually turning out to be some fun.

Thanks again,
Harry

Um, Best attitude ever!

You're not, god forbid, learning a lot about the innerworkings of the car are you! That would be a horrible waste of time </sarcasm>

Sounds like you're coming along well.

Does the CEL come on when you start the car, to let you know it is functioning properly? I've heard of shady ppl, pulling the bulb to hide MIL/CEL 's...

Sorry not to have responded earlier. I've been in the hospital for a few days and intend to follow up on this by Saturday to see what is up.

The CEL does not come on. When I take the dash apart to follow the wiring, I'll check the bulb.

Thanks,
